Matteo stared at the papers in his hand. The reporters around us stopped asking about Bianca's wedding jewelry.

"What is this supposed to prove?" he asked. "That you can embarrass me too?"

"It proves I'm ending our marriage."

Bianca looked from the petition to Matteo. Her smile disappeared when she read the names printed at the top.

"Marriage?" she asked. "You said Elena was your designer."

Several cameras moved closer. The winning bidder beside me lowered her champagne and waited for Matteo's answer.

Matteo folded the papers before Bianca could take them. "Elena and I need to speak privately."
