Simon turned toward Camille. "Stop."

"No," I said. "She brought it up. Let her answer."

The front desk employee moved away, pretending to check a stack of papers. Guests hurried through the lobby while wind pushed against the glass doors.

I faced Camille. "What happened here last spring?"

She watched Simon for a moment.

"We stayed for two nights," she said.

"She was having trouble with Russell," Simon said. "I came here to help her."

"You booked one room," Camille replied.

Simon's jaw tightened.

"Did you sleep with her?" I asked.
