"Just waste away in here for good. Don't ever wake up. I'll handle Justin just fine without you.

"Honestly, it'd be better if you croaked right here." Then, like a lightbulb went off, she tacked on.

"Oh, and guess what? I doctored your matching report. Can you blame me? Justin's so wrapped up in me."

Her words lit a firestorm of rage inside me.

I wanted to charge at her, wrap my hands around her throat—but try as I might, I couldn't lay a finger on her.

Right then, it hit me how tiny and helpless I really was. Powerless…
