After Adrian ended the call, his first reaction was not to apologize.

He held out his hand.

“Sign the transfer agreement.”

I stared at him.

“Did you miss what your own counsel just said?”

“Without my authorization, Aurelius has no right to keep using Aveline.”

“Which is exactly why you need to sign.”

He spoke as though we were discussing an ordinary contract.

“Aurelius employs hundreds of people.”

“If you terminate the license now, you won’t just be hurting me.”
