After hanging up, I wiped all the call logs and stashed my phone back in its hiding spot.

Right after I was done, someone knocked on the door.

It was Judson. "Annie, Christine wants us to come down for lunch."

"Got it." I opened the door, and there he was, standing in the doorway with a cup of water in his hand.

"Have some water before we head down." He handed me the cup, his eyes briefly scanning my face.

My heart skipped a beat, and I instinctively avoided his gaze.
