Chapter 4
The photo captured not only the dishes, but also Ryan and the male assistant.
The timestamp and what was shown in the photo made it clear that it wasn't just me and the assistant there that day.
That was enough to prove my innocence.
Ryan probably didn't even realize when I snapped that picture.
Who knows, maybe while I was busy documenting my day, Ryan was busy sweet-talking my sister.
I sent the photo, the video of Ryan cheating, along with the medical records from when Lily was taken to the hospital, to my agent.
I said, "This is all the evidence I need to clear my name. The rest is up to you.
"Get the best PR team and lawyers. If we need to take legal action, so be it.
"Ryan and I have already agreed to get a divorce."
If Ryan and Sophie didn't care about saving face, I didn't owe them any courtesy in return.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
I opened the door—it was Sophie.
Without even hesitating, she shoved me out of the way, stormed inside without bothering to take off her shoes, acting like she ran the place.
Sophie snapped, "Where's Ryan? Are you hiding him so he won't see me?"
With that, she angrily barged through my apartment, flinging open every door and frantically trying to hunt down Ryan, who wasn't even here.
I just stood there, watching her lose it.
After tearing through the whole place, Sophie still couldn't find Ryan anywhere.
She hurried over, clutching my sleeve. She said, "Yvonne, are you hiding Ryan from me? Please, I can't reach him at all.
"You've always spoiled me, giving me whatever I wanted. Can't you let me have Ryan, too?
"Seriously, look at how everyone on the internet is obsessed with him. You just don't get how irresistible he is."
I let out a cold, bitter laugh—talk about pathetic. So she did remember how good I'd always been to her.
I shot back, "Oh, now you remember I'm your sister? And you really went and did all this for a man like that?
"Were all those online posts your doing?"
Sophie didn't look the slightest bit guilty. She stared straight at me, all righteous and defiant, like she'd forgotten every lesson about basic decency our whole lives.
She said, "Yeah, it was me. I just can't help how much I love Ryan.
"I put those posts out so the fans would take your divorce better. That way, Ryan and I can finally be happy together.
"I was head over heels for him the very first time we met. Now that he finally wants me, can't you just step aside? Come on, I'm your little sister.
"Do you really have the heart to see me miserable like this?"
I shoved her hand off me and stepped back, putting real space between us.
And it wasn't just the physical kind—even my heart was drawing a line she couldn't cross.
