In strolled Henry Austin, dressed in magnificent robes, a plate of pastries in his hand. He cast a cold glare at Laura and Edward.

Laura didn't recognize him. Henry spent most of his time in his own territories and rarely came to the city. His wife had died in childbirth, leaving him with a precious daughter, Pearl.
