Chapter 5

Sophie and I went wild all night.

We downed endless drinks, belting out songs to the deafening music until our voices were shot.

We trashed Xavier with every filthy word in the book, not holding back for a second.

We kept going until our throats were raw and our heads felt heavy.

All that pain and bitterness I'd been bottling up for so long finally burst out of me. I just let it all loose.

I felt like I'd been sick forever, and now I was gulping down air that tasted like freedom and raw pain, finally feeling alive again.
