The black town car Arthur sent arrived within twenty minutes. I barely had time to grab a suitcase and the few possessions that truly mattered—my mother's locket, a photo of my foster parents, and the divorce papers Ryan had so carelessly left behind.

"Ms. Blackwood," the driver said, opening the door for me. "Mr. Blackwell is waiting."

I hesitated before sliding into the leather seat. "It's still strange to hear that name."
