Mom didn't bother arguing with Dad anymore.

She took me upstairs and settled me in the nursery.

She handed me over to Hestia and Constance to take care of me together.

Dad barely ever came home.

And when he did, he always carried a scent I really couldn't stand.

It was kind of sweet, but underneath, it was just nasty.

Mom always looked so sad, and I'd try everything to cheer her up.

But I was just a baby. I couldn't talk.
