After putting the shirt on, I made a show of walking right up to James, but he just stayed sprawled on the couch, stubbornly ignoring me.

"Can't you see me standing here?" I teased, trying to get his attention.

"If you're not sleeping, then get out," he said flatly, not even looking my way.

He rolled over, turning his back to me.

Playing the gentleman.

I squeezed in beside him on the couch. "Come on, let's just move to the bed. This is way too small."
