Forced Home by Wicked Scheme

Synopsis

After the New Year holidays, I returned to work, expecting praise for landing that tens-of-millions-of-dollars overseas deal I stayed up negotiating on New Year's Eve. Instead, my desk was taken, and all I got was a shabby cardboard box. I laughed in anger. I was about to storm into the office to confront my boss when the employee now occupying my spot stopped me. "Bella, congratulations! You get to stay home and live a cozy life, just because you are pregnant. Unlike the rest of us, still working like dogs." I smiled coldly. Getting rid of me after I'd served my purpose, and humiliating me to my face? They had no idea how much company information an eight-year veteran like me held. And I, Bella Thurman, had always believed dignity didn't put food on the table. My favorite thing in life was getting even for every slight, no matter how small!
