Samuel knocked on my door. He said, "Come on, time for breakfast."

I called out, pulled on a loose, fuzzy pajama set, and opened the door. Samuel was waiting outside in his comfy clothes.

"You didn't go ahead?" I asked.

"Is the baby giving you a hard time?" he asked.

I looked at Samuel, not saying a word. It suddenly hit me that we never really sat down and talked about any of this. The marriage, the baby; it was all just dropped on him out of nowhere.
