I dropped 120 grand on a brand-new RV for a solo coastal road trip over Memorial Day weekend. My neighbor Karen caught wind of it and showed up at my house with her husband, their child, and both of his parents. She wanted me to take them along so they could save on gas money. I gave her a hard no. The next morning, I woke up to find my RV gone. A quick check of the security footage told the whole story. Around 2 AM, Karen's husband started up my RV and drove their family of five straight toward the freeway. I called Karen right up. She had the nerve to say, "You're traveling alone, so just grab a cheap hotel for the weekend. The RV is made for a family our size." The very next call I made was to 911. They thought they could steal my RV and get a free vacation on my dime. Instead, they were about to spend Memorial Day weekend in jail.
