Chapter 1
In a CEO romance novel, the gentle second male lead was about to jump off a building after the female lead broke off their engagement.
I stopped him, one hand on my pregnant belly. "Mr. Graham, before you die, can you sign this abortion consent form? I'm pregnant with your child."
He stared at me. Then he remembered he had been drugged and slept with a stranger a few months ago.
That woman was me.

When I discovered I was just a random side character in a CEO romance novel, Javier Graham, the second male lead and a big-shot CEO, was standing on the sixty-sixth floor rooftop.
He was going to jump off because he couldn't take the humiliation of being dumped by the female lead at their engagement party.
This story had nothing to do with me. I was just a nobody, barely even a footnote. The one-night fling with him months ago? That was literally my only scene.
But just now, I found out I was pregnant through a pregnancy test.
Now that I was carrying the big-shot CEO's kid, letting this chance slip by would be a total waste.
This was my shot to turn my whole life around.
Javier wanted to die, but I wanted this opportunity to strike it rich. So he couldn't let him die just yet.
Right as he was about to jump, I burst onto the rooftop and shouted, "Wait!"
Javier turned around, his brows furrowing in confusion. "If this is about your paycheck, relax. Even if I die, the company will still pay everyone."
With that, he shut his eyes, ready to take the leap and end this life where nobody ever loved him.
I glanced down at my staff uniform, suddenly realizing he'd gotten the wrong idea.
This hotel belonged to Javier too, so he probably thought I was just worried about getting paid if he died.
At the very last second, I shouted, "Hold on, Mr. Graham. Don't jump yet!
"Before you go, can you sign this abortion consent form for me? I'm pregnant with your kid. But since I'm an orphan, the hospital won't let me sign it."
Trying to look as pitiful as possible, I gave him my most helpless, pitiful stare. I'd heard Javier he was super responsible, so there was no way he'd jump after hearing I was pregnant with his kid.
I was gambling on his sense of responsibility, hoping he'd hold off on jumping for the sake of the baby.
A few seconds later, he stared at me like I'd just dropped a bombshell, trying to see if I was telling the truth.
He was totally stunned by what I had said.
After looking at me closely, his ears went red, and soon, his whole face flushed.
He remembered the crazy night from months ago.
Kenneth Murray, the despicable jerk, had spiked his drink so he could steal Helene West from him.
In his drugged haze, Javier used me, a hotel maid cleaning up the room, as the antidote, and ended up having sex with me all night.
By the time he woke up the next morning, I'd already bolted, leaving behind nothing but a trace of blood on the sheets.
It was his first time, and mine as well.
If I really was pregnant, then odds were, the baby was his.
Javier let out a sigh. He really had an obligation to sign the abortion consent form.
But at the same time, he felt that the pregnancy was really bad timing.
After all, he was just about to commit suicide.
Javier had to put a pause on his suicide plan. The baby was way more important right now.
Ending his life was his own business, but this baby was my future. He'd already messed me up once, and I was totally innocent. No way he'd just let me deal with this by myself.
So he pulled his foot back from the edge and asked, "Which hospital are you going to? When's the procedure? I'll sign the consent form for you."
It seemed the rumors weren't lying. Javier was as responsible as they said.
I totally called it.
Over the next two days, Javier handled everything about the surgery, down to the tiniest detail.
He chose the hospital, picked the doctor, and made sure I had someone to take care of me while I recovered after the abortion.
He was worried that after he died, I wouldn't have the money to recover fully from the abortion. And so, he gave me a card loaded with 300 thousand dollars as compensation for the abortion.
