Chapter 3
Even though I added Eric on WhatsApp, he never replied to my messages.
I felt that he was seriously aloof.
At the start of college, I marched straight into the boys' dorm alone.
The moment I swung the door open, I was hit by a whole lot of bare skin.
Their AC was busted, so everyone was lounging in their boxers, huddled around their computers, gaming hard.
There were abs and collarbones everywhere. I seriously had no idea where to look first.
I felt that all the good-looking guys should be gaming together.
Eric's expression turned icy.
He tossed his mouse aside, strode over, and pulled me out of the dorm.
Then he slammed the door shut behind us.
Eric gave me a grumpy look and asked, "What are you doing here?"
I squeezed his hand back, flashing a bright smile. "If you won't come to me, I'll come to you."
He suddenly looked a bit sulky. "I won't see you because I don't like you.
"You're basically pestering me, you know?"
I never had someone shut me down so directly before.
I felt awkward and shot back without thinking, "I'm not even that into you.
"And honestly, you're so phony."
Eric let out a soft scoff.
He thrust his phone at me, showing off the messages I'd bombarded him with over the past few days.
Eric raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you don't like me?"
His gorgeous, sharp eyes sparkled with mischief.
His playful gaze made my ears flush bright red.
I stubbornly refused. "That was days ago. That has nothing to do with the person I am today."
Eric smirked. "Alright then.
"Don't forget what you just said."
I regretted what I said.
I had come to ask him to dinner, maybe get a little closer or something.
Even though I got totally shut down, I didn't let it get to me.
The very next morning, I was practically skipping over to find him with breakfast in hand.
He was sitting in the classroom, head down, totally absorbed in his book.
It wasn't until my shadow blocked out all the light in front of him that he finally looked up and saw me.
"You're back again?" Eric looked up.
I said with a grin, "Of course I'm here! I'll be here today, tomorrow, and the day after that. I'm not going anywhere.
"I want to be your girlfriend."
I smiled and placed the breakfast right in front of him on his desk.
Just as I was about to sit down next to him, he suddenly spoke up. "Someone's sitting there."
"Who?" I asked.
If he didn't want me sitting next to him, he could have just said it. There was no need for such a lame excuse.
"Me," a fresh and youthful male voice came.
A good-looking boy slid into the seat next to Eric, munching on a pancake.
I pulled a face, clearly annoyed.
It was Errol Powers. Lately, every time I went looking for Eric, Errol was always glued to his side.
I wondered if Errol was gay and if he was into Eric.
With that thought, I glared daggers at Errol, my face scrunched up in even more annoyance.
Eric fixed his eyes on me, calm and serious. "Do you bring breakfast for anyone else?"
I was caught off guard for a moment, then shook my head.
When I was pursuing someone, I had to go all in.
That was my principle.
Since Eric was asking me that question, I wondered if he was starting to care about me.
But before I could even let myself get excited, his next words hit me like a bucket of cold water.
"If nobody else wants it, I don't want it either," Eric said, pushing the breakfast back toward me.
"Take it back. Thanks," he added.
All eyes were suddenly on us.
I was so embarrassed I could've crawled into a hole and died.
Errol took the breakfast from Eric, flashing a cheeky grin.
He said, "Miss, I haven't had breakfast yet.
"Can I have it?"
I looked up at him, eyes shining, and nodded like crazy.
He grinned as he took it, then pulled me away from the scene.
As we walked off, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was glaring daggers at my back.
