Edward's face went stiff, and he was at a loss for words for a long moment.

Since he stayed silent, Sophie stepped forward. But when she caught sight of James, she stopped in her tracks for a moment too.

But the next second, her eyes welled up with tears, and she pleaded with me, "It's all my fault, Claire. I shouldn't have said I'd never seen the ocean. If I hadn't, Edward wouldn't have left you behind to take me to Baranoya Shores."

"Luckily, it poured today, and the flight was canceled. Edward should stay with you tonight. I'll go."
