Chapter 2
When we got home, Samuel insisted on showering first.
While I waited on the bed, I scrolled through my phone and stumbled upon a post from one of the coworkers who'd been spreading rumors about me earlier.
[How do you deal with a delusional coworker? She's plain and has nothing special about her, but she thinks giving the boss an orange will win him over. Seriously, what century is this? I'm dying laughing!]
The comment section was full of replies from the other rumor-mongers.
[Must watch too many cheesy romance dramas—can't tell reality from fiction.]
[Put down the billionaire romance novels and do your job for once.]
[She's clearly living in a total fantasy.]
Furious from the comments I'd been scrolling through, I was still stewing in bed when Samuel's voice floated from the bathroom. "Julia, I forgot my towel. Could you bring it?"
His fluffy, heart-patterned towel was tossed over the chair. Snatching it up, I padded to the bathroom and nudged the door open—only to come face to face with him, still dripping from the shower.
Steam swirled between us, misting the air and catching the light on his skin.
Beads of water traced the hard lines of his abdomen, gleaming against his sun-kissed complexion.
His breath came a little quicker in the humid air, chest rising and falling steadily.
My heart was racing—I tossed the towel aside, grabbed my bathrobe, and started wiping him down myself.
Delusional? Fantasy? Couldn't tell reality from fiction? I'd show what a "delusional girl" like me was capable of.
We started making wild love.
As we tangled together, I kept grilling him playfully.
"Who's your darling wife?" I asked.
"Woof! It's Julia!" Samuel answered, acting all cute.
"And who's my darling husband?" I pressed.
"Woof! It's Samuel!" he barked back, just as shameless.
"Tell me, am I your delusional fangirl?" I teased Samuel.
"Woof! Not at all!" he replied, playing along.
"Then who am I to you?" I pressed.
"You're my darling wife!" Samuel declared without hesitation.
Satisfied, Samuel and I held each other close, our pleasure building until we climaxed together.

The next morning, I realized we'd gotten so carried away last night that, without even noticing, I'd left a hickey right on Samuel's neck.
I suggested he cover it up with a Band-Aid, but he wouldn't have it.
"The more you try to hide it, the more people will notice," Samuel said.
I kept trying to convince him. "If all else fails, just slap on one of those giant medical patches."
But Samuel ignored me completely, switched back to his icy CEO mode, and got into the car.
When we reached the subway station, just as I was about to open the door and get out, he caught my hand.
"Gimme a kiss," Samuel said, sounding all cute.
I hesitated, and he looked all pitiful, fiddling with his fingers. "I'm heading out on a business trip. I won't get any kisses until I come home."
"Alright," I said.
I leaned in and gave him a couple of soft kisses, finally pulling myself away even though I really didn't want to.
I shut the car door behind me and walked straight to the subway entrance.
Later on, just as expected, my coworkers started chatting about the hickey on Samuel's neck.
"Oh, you can totally tell he and his wife are super close! Mr. Foster's only been married a couple of years, so of course they're still all lovey-dovey!"
"Yeah, he's got a wife, and they're crazy about each other! Some delusional fangirls really need to give up on their crushes already!" After saying that, they shot me a pointed look.
