As soon as I landed and turned on my phone, Charlotte's calls and messages flooded in like a tidal wave.

Richard was getting bombarded, too.

My phone kept buzzing nonstop, so Richard snatched it from me and gave it the full block-and-delete treatment. "From now on, we're starting fresh."

Richard threw his arm over my shoulder, leaned in close with a mischievous grin, and whispered, "I found this snail place everyone raves about. We're going straight there."

I nodded eagerly, barely able to stop drooling at the thought of those snails.
