I dragged myself back to my childhood home, looking like a corpse. All I wanted was for my parents to hold me.

But the second I walked through the door, I was told my father had been taken into custody.

An anonymous tip triggered an investigation by the state fraud division and the DA's office. They accused my dad of embezzling factory operating funds. He was already sitting in the county jail awaiting a hearing.
