Clara hurried over to Michael, and the couple glared at me, their faces a mix of shock and anger.

Keaton had no idea why I was suddenly standing my ground, but he was behind me, having my back.

"Michael, how can you talk to your mom like that? So what if she slapped you?" Keaton snapped.

I shook out my hand, still stinging from the slap, and said coldly, "Michael, your dad and I have been too easy on you, letting you order us around like we're your servants.

"It's our fault for not teaching you to respect your elders…
