Ever since Chase made our divorce public and openly said that Yolanda was the only woman he truly loved, everyone treated me like a joke.

I'd lost all my dignity and pride in this university long ago.

It didn't matter. I was leaving anyway.

I wouldn't have to see anyone I knew from this university, not a single colleague, ever again.

And Chase, too.

For the next five days, I walked all over the city.

I was letting go of the past, leaving my memories behind.
