The kind women immediately pulled out their phones and called for help.

"Don't worry, sweetie. The ambulance is coming."

They stayed close, encouraging me not to give up, to hang in there.

Just as hope flickered inside me—thinking I might finally be saved—Henry's voice cut through the stairwell. "Anna, you're really using fake blood to trick me? Isn't this a bit much?"
