Chapter 2
Leon flat-out refused Olivia's request for a divorce.
The tension between them was icy, almost suffocating.
Late that night, Leon pulled out a contract and set it down in front of Olivia.
"Olivia, I'm sorry, but I'm not divorcing you," Leon said, his voice low and heavy.
"I know what happened with Rachel was my fault, but what I feel for you has always been true," he added, his tone softening.
The house was brightly lit, and under the glare, Leon's eyes glimmered.
His face hadn't changed, nor had his expression. Olivia couldn't help but stare at Leon, her mind drifting.
But his heart was already different.
"This is a transfer agreement for 40% of Foster Holdings. I know this might not make up for everything, but just take it as a little compensation, okay?" Leon said, his voice low and hesitant.
But Leon couldn't keep his eyes off his phone on the table, glancing at it over and over, as if he was anxiously waiting for someone to text him.
The phone didn't even ring—just the screen lit up, showing an incoming call.
Olivia finally felt a sense of relief as she saw the caller ID: "Rachel."
Leon's face changed in a flash—first troubled, then relaxing a bit. With Olivia right there, he just kept giving vague "uh-huhs," clearly not wanting her to overhear anything important.
Olivia picked up the divorce agreement, signed her name with the pen from the table, and pushed it toward Leon, laying it right over the share transfer contract.
Leon signed it without a second thought, then looked up and gave her a smile, finally looking relieved now that she'd taken the shares. He got up right away and headed to the window to finish his call.
"Leon, it's official—we're divorced," Olivia said, her voice steady and ice-cold.
"Give me a month, and I'll be gone for good," she added, her tone unwavering.
Olivia murmured something under her breath, and Leon seemed to hear it. He turned around and held up his hand, signaling her to wait—"Hang on, I'll be right there."
But before he could finish his call, there was a knock at the door.
Leon nearly jumped out of his skin and rushed to open it.
It was Rachel, standing at the door with a suitcase in hand.
She rushed straight into Leon's arms, clutching him tightly as she broke down in muffled, hiccuping sobs.
"Leon, I'm really scared! Some bad guys broke into my house—they're trying to take everything we own!" Rachel sobbed, her voice shaking with fear.
"It's all because of my dad's debts! I can't go back there! I'm so scared! Can I stay here tonight? Just for one night, please, Leon!" she pleaded, her eyes wide with panic.
Rachel looked up at Leon with tear-filled eyes, only then noticing Olivia at the table, quietly gathering up the divorce papers.
"Olivia, please, just let me stay for one night, okay? I.....I can't sleep at all unless Leon's here" Rachel begged, her voice shaky and desperate.
Olivia froze, lowering her gaze. 'So she has insomnia too,' Olivia realized, the irony stinging sharper than she expected.
Before Olivia could say a word, Leon pulled Rachel close, positioning her protectively in front of him.
"Rachel, come on, let's get you out of here. You shouldn't be here," Leon said, his voice low and urgent.
The door clicked shut again, leaving Olivia all alone in the huge villa.
The suffocating pressure in her chest was spiraling out of control, spreading like wildfire and threatening to swallow her whole.

"Don't move, Rachel! Don't tease me!" Leon said, his voice low and strained.
"I-I don't want you to go. Can you stay with me, please?" Rachel pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation.
Leon had rushed home today, parking his car right in the front yard—just a few steps from the living room.
Inside the cramped Rolls-Royce, their bodies were entwined. Leon, who had been so composed just moments ago, was now all over Rachel, his passion barely contained, making the whole car shudder with their movements.
"Don't be scared, Rachel. It'll be over soon," Leon whispered, his voice low and reassuring.
Another burst of frantic movement rocked the car, Rachel's girlish, breathless moans growing louder and more intense.
"Please, don't go. Not tonight, not tomorrow, not ever. Just stay with me, okay?" Rachel pleaded, her voice trembling with longing.
The car was filled with moans and gasps, their desire echoing in the cramped space.
Olivia, clutching a bag of trash, walked past the car with numb, mechanical steps—neither Leon nor Rachel even noticed her slipping by.
Just a few steps away from them, Olivia crouched beside the trash can, wrapping her arms tightly around herself as her tears fell in heavy, silent drops.
She thought she was strong enough to walk away with her head held high.
But the truth was, the heartbreak kept hitting her in relentless waves, knocking the wind out of her and leaving her feeling completely hollow inside.
"Alright, I'll stay with you," Leon murmured, his voice soft and full of tenderness.
His words were quiet, but Olivia caught every single one. In that instant, she could almost hear her own heart breaking—like shards of glass splintering inside her chest. 'So this is what it feels like to fall apart,' she thought numbly.
'They couldn't even wait long enough to get a hotel room,' Olivia thought bitterly, the sting of betrayal twisting in her chest.
'There was no denying it—he loved her,' Olivia realized, the truth hitting her like a punch to the gut.
Olivia let her arms fall limp at her sides, staring up at the pitch-black sky, desperately searching for even a single glimmer of light.
