Chapter 1
The city's most prestigious heir fell for a blind nightclub girl, one who supposedly couldn't be bought.
He tossed me aside, the fiancée who was also a financial genius.
To protect his position as heir, I paid for her eye surgery and allowed her to be his lover.
When she regained her sight and learned the truth, the shock cost her both her baby and her fertility.
Years later, he finally took full control of the Saunders Group and blew sixty million dollars on his wedding with his blind lover.
He later shoved me off the rooftop, saying coldly, "A life for a life. We're even."
When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the time when he was pursuing the blind girl.
This time, I decided to step aside and watch him burn.

I was adopted by the Saunders family when I was young. They'd decided that when I grew up I'd marry into the family.
They also spent years grooming me into a financial prodigy.
Everyone in our circle knew that the one who married me would automatically become the Saunders heir.
But as luck would have it, Jonas Saunders didn't get it.
He openly pursued Allie Ingram—a blind girl who played music at the nightclub and swore she'd never sell herself.
He tossed cash around like it was nothing, hoping to make her smile.
He'd tell everyone, "Allie might come from a bad background, but she's pure. Her genuine smile washes the taint of materialism off me.
"Lexi's too damn smart. Her eyes are always calculating, and so dirty."
And so, he was hell-bent on dumping me.
He didn't even care about his pride, dropping to his knees in front of his grandfather, Harvey Saunders, begging to marry Allie.
He left me utterly humiliated.

When I opened my eyes, I was back in the nightclub's private room.
My socialite friends sat around me, drinks in hand. In front of us, Allie was at the piano, tears brimming in her cloudy eyes, full of grievance and sorrow.
"Seriously? She plays like that, and dares call herself a performer? She couldn't even compare to Lexi."
"Jonas must be blind to fall for her innocent act."
"Lexi, if Jonas breaks off the engagement with you, he's basically giving up his right to inherit Saunders Group."
I sat in a daze, half-listening.
Allie's song ended. She stood, gave us a bow, then tapped her cane toward the exit.
Just then, the door opened and Jonas came in.
Allie lost her footing and fell off the stage.
When she hit the ground, she burst into tears, lips trembling.
Jonas saw her fall as he walked in, frowning in concern.
He strode straight to Allie, pulling her protectively into his arms, his eyes full of worry.
Then he swept his gaze over everyone lounging on the sofa.
When his eyes landed on me, they turned furious.
"Lexi, didn't I tell you to stop stirring up trouble for Allie?" Jonas snapped. "What the hell are you playing at now? Banding together with your crew to pick on her?"
I kept quiet.
My friend shot back, "We were just here hanging out. Allie came in to play and tripped on her own. How the hell is that us bullying her?"
Jonas didn't care what anyone else said.
He only believed what he wanted to believe.
Allie was in tears now, and as far as Jonas was concerned, someone had to pay for it.
Everyone there was from elite families, and picking on them might incur their families' wrath. I was the easiest target, the Saunders' adopted child.
To Jonas, I was nothing but a lackey.
He didn't even hesitate. Like it was the most natural thing ever, he snapped at me, "Lexi, get over here and apologize to Allie."
In my previous life, I apologized.
I compromised, endured everything, and put up with it all.
For Jonas and Allie, I even gave up my pride.
But in the end, what did I get for it?
Jonas shoved me off the rooftop and I fell to my death.
I glanced at Jonas, smiling, "You're right. I shouldn't have crashed Miss Ingram's performance."
Jonas sneered, "At least you know your place."
I continued, "But just saying sorry feels empty. I'll make it up to her with a gift."
My friend scowled and grabbed my arm, trying to hold me back.
I shot her a reassuring smile, then pulled out my phone and called Harvey.
Right there, in front of Jonas, Allie, and half the city's rich kids, I said, "Harvey, I've thought over your offer. Since Jonas refuses to marry me, let him marry Allie.
"Saunders Group doesn't have to go to him. I'll marry your younger son, Seth. From now on, Seth will be the heir."
Seth Saunders was known for being cold and distant.
He never looked twice at any woman, and whenever anyone tried to arrange a match to get on his good side, he'd shut them all out.
