Alex was actually shaking as he leaned into my ear.

"Layla, they lied to you...

"Wake up. Look at me, Layla. Please.

"I promise I'll cure you. Just let me help you, okay?"

I felt frozen to the bone, but my heart was a burning knot in my chest.

I wanted to tell him it was okay.

I was used to nightmares; a dream this good was a rare gift.
