May twenty-seventh finally arrived.

Edward's face, dark and stormy for days, finally broke into a smile. Anyone with eyes could see how happy he was.

Before he left, he glanced back at me. "Izzy, after Seraphina comes back, I'll make it up to you."

I didn't say anything. I just leaned against the wall, my head hanging low.
