Chapter 4

A few minutes later, I heard the bedroom door open.
Dominic's heavy footsteps entered the room. He paused, clearly surprised to find Sienna waiting in his bedroom.
"Sienna, what are you doing in here? Go back to your own room."
She wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Dominic, I miss Titan. He used to sleep with me every night. Please don't kick me out tonight, okay?"
She pressed her lips against his Adam's apple, her hands slipping beneath his shirt.
"Why are you burning up?"
His eyes darkened with lust, his voice grinding out like sandpaper, thick and ragged.
"Sienna, I swear I don't know what to do with you. You shouldn't tempt me like this."
He tilted her chin up and kissed her, over and over again.
Bound in the dark closet, listening to their wet, desperate sounds, whatever was left of my heart finally flatlined.
Sienna grew bolder, her hands moving lower.
The sharp click of his belt buckle popping open was instantly drowned out by a deafening crack of thunder outside.
Dominic froze.
He was panting heavily.
"Thunder."
"Victoria is terrified of thunder. And you stabbed her today. I need to go check on her."
He bent down, scooped up his clothes from the floor, and draped them over Sienna.
"Go to sleep."
Then, without looking back, he walked out.
Sienna clenched her fists in furious defeat and wrenched the closet door open.
"Are you happy now? He still loves you."
I had already slipped out of the ropes. I slowly rubbed my raw wrists, a cold, mocking smile playing on my lips.
"Why the hell would I be happy?"
"Happy that I was blind enough to choose a protégé who betrays the hand that fed her?"
"Or happy that Dominic didn't go all the way with you?"
I raised my eyes, my gaze lethal.
"His pants were unbuckled, Sienna. Does it really matter if he finished the job?"
The scales in his heart had tipped a long time ago. They would never balance perfectly in my favor again.
What I demanded was his unhesitating choice. Unquestionable loyalty. Not the scraps of guilt and obligation he threw my way only after weighing his options between two women.
I stared her down, my voice dropping to a deadly calm.
"Do you remember what I told you the day I took you in?"
"Anyone who betrays me dies."
My men had already surrounded the property. The second the front doors were blown open, operators in black tactical gear flooded the house, wave after wave.
They slammed Sienna into the ground before she could even blink.
Her face went ashen. She stared at me in pure terror.
"How... how do you have the authority to command the Raven Protective Group?"
I ignored her and gave the order.
"Take the princess back to the estate."
I had scores to settle with both of them.
I hadn't even stepped through the front doors of the Biscayne Bay Estate when I heard the shouting.
Dominic's voice was tight with suppressed rage.
"Who the fuck let you in? Get out!"
Immediately after, a smooth, infuriatingly casual male voice echoed through the hall.
"Victoria told me she was going to be with me. She told me to make myself at home in the Sterling house."
