Chapter 2
Just then, a crisp, icy, emotionless mechanical voice rang out in my mind: [Host's intense will to survive detected. Infinity Vault binding initiated.
[Binding successful.
[The trillion-square-foot Infinity Vault is now unlocked. Freshness preservation, item storage, crop cultivation, livestock breeding, living creature containment, and time suspension enabled.
[Host: Charlotte Summers
[Status: Healthy (no injuries or ailments)
[Magic: 0 (can be boosted by seeking vengeance or earning virtue)
[Vault Resources: Empty]
A surge of information flooded my mind, revealing all the features of the Infinity Vault to me in a flash.
This wasn't any ordinary space I'd seen in my previous life. It was the legendary Infinity Vault.
It was endless, like a miniature world. Anything I put inside would stay fresh forever. Time stood still in there, so nothing would ever go bad, break, or expire.
It had its own spiritual farm. Plant any seed, and thanks to the spiritual energy, I could harvest every day with double the yield.
I could raise live animals too. Chickens, ducks, cows, sheep, pigs, and fish could all live safely and comfortably, giving me an endless supply of meat, eggs, and milk.
And I could stash vehicles, fuel, weapons, and gear in there, no matter how big or heavy.
Back in my previous life, I spent five years barely surviving the apocalypse. The largest storage space I ever saw was only a few hundred square feet, just enough to stash some emergency food.
But this time, I scored a trillion-square-foot Infinity Vault.
Instinctively, I closed my eyes, and with only a thought, my consciousness was instantly transported into the Infinity Vault.
Inside, a vast, endless world stretched as far as the eye could see, shrouded in a hazy whiteness. The ground was dark, fertile soil, and the air was fresh and sweet. Right in the center, a spring bubbled up, overflowing with spiritual spring.
This wasn't just some storage space. It was the perfect survival base for the apocalypse.
My eyes flew open. There wasn't a hint of confusion or weakness left in my gaze. All that remained was cold, steely determination and ruthless resolve.
I only had thirty days to get ready.
I had to race against the clock, cash out every asset no matter the cost, stockpile supplies like crazy, arm myself to the teeth, and turn this place into the ultimate survival stronghold.
I needed flour and all kinds of convenience food.
I needed bottled water, milk, yogurt, juice, soda, and energy drinks.
I needed beef, pork, lamb, chicken, fish, and canned food of every kind.
I needed potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, all sorts of fruits and veggies.
I needed cold medicine, painkillers, antibiotics, iodine, gauze, and emergency medical supplies.
I needed down jackets, thermal clothing, windbreakers, hiking boots, rain boots, and raincoats.
I needed generators, solar panels, gasoline, diesel, batteries, and flashlights.
Fire axes, tactical shovels, daggers, crossbows, stab-proof vests, and bulletproof helmets were also necessary.
I was going to hoard everything useful for the apocalypse.
I was going to hoard until the Infinity Vault couldn't take any more, until I had enough to last a lifetime.
As for Emily, Margaret, and those so-called "friends" who bullied me, stole my supplies, and stood by watching me suffer in my previous life, I wouldn't let them breathe near me this time.
Everything they owed me, I'd make them pay back a thousand times over.
If they thought they could snatch anything from me when the apocalypse hit, they wouldn't live to see it. They'd know what real hopelessness felt like before the end of the world began.
I pulled back the covers, stepped barefoot onto the soft carpet, and walked over to the massive floor-to-ceiling mirror.
The girl staring back at me had smooth skin and sharp, piercing eyes. There was no trace of the weakness or exhaustion from my previous life.
I gently touched my unscarred stomach, a cold, ruthless smile curling at my lips.
The apocalypse? Zombies? Hunger? Cold? From this day forward, none of that will ever touch me again.
I, Charlotte Summers, have come back, wielding a trillion-square-foot Infinity Vault. Before the apocalypse arrives, I would stockpile every resource worth having and forge an unbreakable fortress.
I would force all my enemies to grovel at my feet and make myself the one and only queen of the end times.
The day the red rain fell would be the start of my new life, and the beginning of every villain's worst nightmare.
