Chapter 5

Daniel's POV

"Emma still hasn't answered you?"

As boarding began, Sophie glanced at Daniel's phone.

The screen was still open to the message he had sent after landing on Friday.

"How did the appointment go?"

Above it were the two calls Emma had made before his flight took off.

Daniel had called back once after he landed. No one answered.

In the five days since then, Emma had not sent him a single message.

"She's still angry about what happened that day." Daniel locked his screen. "She'll be fine once I get home."

"But she had an appointment that morning."
