Martin glanced at me, then finally set his glass down.

Later, he said apologetically, "Nicole can't handle alcohol."

I shrugged it off and downed my drink in one go.

Seeing how readily I drank, several investors crowded over. Thankfully, Ian stepped up, and the dinner ended without disaster.
