It had been three hours since David left.

He said he was just going to help Linda check her gas line, but seriously, how long could that possibly take?

I stared at my phone screen, wondering whether I should call him or not.

I hovered my finger over the call button for a few seconds, but in the end, I just let it go.

A gentle male voice came from in front of me.
