Chapter 7

Two voices spoke as Chloe suddenly appeared, putting her arm around my shoulder.

"Seriously, Maeve! You hid your relationship from me?" Chloe said, half-joking, half-accusing.

I grinned and pulled Chloe to the practice room. "I'll explain later, promise."

Ashur suddenly gripped my wrist, his hold tight enough to crush bones.

"Ouch! Let go!" I protested.

Ashur ignored me, his red eyes burning with shock and anger he barely controlled.

"Maeve, seriously?" he asked, voice rough.

Before I could speak, Chloe swatted Ashur's hand away.

She pulled me aside and said.

"Ashur Locke, you have a girlfriend, why are you bothering…
