Chapter 5
Though confused, I answered the call.
His husky voice sounded restrained.
"Open the door," he said quietly.
Silas's voice was low and rough. "I want to kiss you."
"Right now."
His words made my heart race and breath short.
As soon as I opened the door, Silas barged in and shut it.
The room was dark. He grabbed my waist, pressed me to the door, and kissed me.
My mind was a mess. I couldn't understand how things got so bad.
Silas kissed me like he'd held back for years, now unstoppable and overwhelming.
I pressed his shoulders, struggling to breathe as the air thinned.
"Si... Silas..." I managed to gasp out.
I'm about to pass out for real!
He suddenly grabbed my head and bit my lip hard.
I cried out, and he finally stopped. Our lips parted, but his arms stayed tight around my waist.
He was just as wrecked as I was.
In the dark room, our foreheads touched, breaths mingling.
We stayed like that, steadying ourselves.
Silas's eyes roamed my face, then his warm fingers gently rubbed my bitten lip.
"Does it hurt?" he asked softly.
It kinda stings.
But I still shook my head. "I-I'm fine."
Things got a little awkward.
"Silas, isn't this moving too fast?" I whispered.
He paused, then softly said, "Yeah. Maybe it is."
"So, um..." I hesitated, not really sure how to continue.
He'd understand, we'd say goodnight, go home, reflect, and take things step by step, as relationships should.
Instead, he hugged me tighter, his voice low and rough. "Have you caught your breath?"
"Wait, what?" I blurted out, completely thrown off.
He leaned in, cedar scent around me, his hoarse voice saying, "I want to keep going."
With that, he pressed his lips to mine again.
He's weirdly polite, giving me a warning first.
But this time, his kiss was gentle.
Soft kisses landed on my cheeks and lips.
Silas's touch was gentle and warm, full of careful tenderness.
One arm held my waist, the other cupped my face, as gentle kisses turned into a slow, lingering tangle of lips and teeth.
My heart raced wildly. I shut my eyes, feeling weak and helpless.
I held his shoulders, overwhelmed by this new flood of feeling.
My phone screen kept flashing on and off.
Ashur kept blowing up my phone with calls and messages.
Silas playfully bit my tongue, then carried me to the moonlit sofa.
In that long, breathless kiss, I realized Silas truly lived up to his name, passionate, even overwhelming.
