Erick Lawrence called me, sounding impatient. "It’s been over a week. Have you made a decision? What do you want in the divorce settlement?"

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, my face pale and drained. I refused to be the stereotypical wronged woman. I answered calmly, "I want to meet with Cassandra Robinson."

Erick sounded alarmed. "What are you trying to do? I told you, this has nothing to do with her. The divorce is between us."
