The next morning, James looked surprised to see me sitting on the couch alone. "Why are you up so early? Is something wrong?" he asked, while reaching out and touching my belly.

"I felt restless and couldn't sleep, so I got up early," I said, standing up, dodging his hand, and heading to the dining room.

James just assumed I was still getting used to being pregnant. "You'll get used to it in a couple of days," he said, then changed the subject.
