Carlos's heart felt like it was being ripped apart.

Carlos didn't hesitate. He steadied me, saying, "Don't move. I'll get you out of here."

He acted fast, not caring about the trouble it might cause.

Carlos gently helped me into the wheelchair, wrapped a blanket around me, and hurried toward the elevator, trying to dodge the chaos that was about to erupt.
