Chapter 3
While I was waiting, I reached out to the system.
It responded with a cheeky laugh.
"I told you men are unreliable, and I told you to stick with me and keep exploring those worlds, but you wouldn't listen. See? Now you're eating your words. Should've listened to me, huh? Since you summoned me back, you must play by the rules," said the system.
I let out a sigh and hated Michael even more. I'd staked 20% of my points on him, convinced he'd never betray me like his parents did to each other. But I'd lose it all in the end.
Michael didn't just inherit his family's toxic genes. He took that nasty streak to a whole new level.
"System, let's make a deal," I said.
The system announced that the exchange would take effect in three days. I fiddled with the engagement ring on my finger, my face completely blank.
The system's gloating voice echoed in my head.
"That bastard. Of all the people to piss off, he just had to choose you," it said.
The door was kicked open with a bang, and then I knew Michael could make it home from the office in under five minutes.
Michael stormed in, veins popping on his forehead, eyes blazing like he wanted to devour me alive.
I let my gaze drift down from his furrowed brow, still unable to figure out when the Michael who swore he'd love me forever had turned into such a total loser.
He spotted Emily still collapsed on the floor, rushed over, and scooped her up into his arms. Seeing her face swollen like a balloon and the handprint around her neck, his heart broke on the spot.
I leaned against the doorframe, watching this tragic couple with a lazy, almost amused look.
Michael quickly but carefully set Emily down on the couch and then charged straight at me, fist raised, ready to strike.
"Rachel, do you even have any shame? Emily's six years younger than you. Why are you so cruel?" he yelled.
I smirked, grabbed his fist just before it hit me and twisted it back with force.
His scream rang out in the empty living room. I found it pretty satisfying.
"Look at you, sleeping with a girl eight years younger. I don't see you blushing about that," I shot back.
Michael's face turned pale.
Before he could get another word out, I twisted his arm with ease. There was a sharp crack, and his shoulder popped right out of its socket.
Up against a 130-pound boxer like me, all that so-called brute strength was nothing to brag about.
"Rachel, you bitch! You're not even a real woman. Emily's a thousand times better than you. I'm breaking up with you," he shouted.
"Works for me," I shot back without a second thought.
Michael stared at me in shock. He probably thought I'd be the one begging him to stay.
But honestly, he was a crippled loser who was about to go bankrupt in three days. How could he ever measure up to me?
Right now, all I cared about was teaching these two homewreckers a lesson.
"Rachel, what do you think you're doing?" Michael yelled.
Honestly, Michael's face was way more satisfying to hit than any punching bag.
I kept pounding away.
By the time I was done, I still wasn't satisfied. But there wasn't a single inch of his face left untouched.
Feeling a bit disappointed, I finally let my fists rest and put Michael and Emily together on the floor.
Looking at the two lovebirds knocked out cold, I couldn't help but snap a ton of photos from every possible angle.
I snatched up both their phones.
If I had to suffer, then so would they.
That morning, I figured I'd give it a shot and used my fingerprint to unlock Michael's phone.
I'd set it up back when we were crazy about each other. Maybe he forgot, or maybe he just assumed I'd always trust him, so he never bothered to remove it.
I mass-sent all their chat logs and every single cringe-worthy photo and video from their gallery.
I blasted them to every contact, every group chat, and even posted them on Instagram, making sure their social lives were completely nuked. I also threw in a public announcement that Michael and I were calling off our engagement tomorrow.
For these two, who cared about their image more than life itself, this was the ultimate public humiliation.
After all that, I finally felt satisfied.
I dragged both of them out and changed the lock code.
Now all I had to do was sit back and wait for tomorrow's drama to explode. No way it was gonna let me down.
