The hall was bathed in the steady glow of the heater.

Edward had his arm draped intimately around Rose's shoulder, coaxing her in a low, soothing voice. "Why are you getting jealous over nothing? I'm here with you now, aren't I?"

Rose was wearing an off-the-shoulder nightgown that left very little to the imagination.

She pressed herself firmly against Edward's chest, complaining playfully in a soft, coquettish tone, "I don't know why you even bother seeing that washed-up old hag."
