I had been pregnant with my second baby for more than four months. I could feel every little movement, every flutter inside me. But overnight, everything changed. My baby was gone.

"Why are you still pretending? Astrid, just how many people did you hire for this?" Osbert's impatient voice came through Jordan's phone.

Jordan shuffled over to the nurse. "Nurse, this is my daddy. He doesn't believe Mom and I are really at the hospital. Can you tell him for me?"
