My best friend snorted at his message. "He better actually be busy."

Then I opened Emily's latest video. Apparently, she was off on a blind date today.

My friend clicked her tongue. "Classic move—taking a step back to take two steps forward."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

She said, "She's testing the waters. If Michael has feelings for her, there's no way tonight's blind date will work out. If he doesn't, chances are you and Michael won't break up.

"Jess, think this through. It's a chance to see who Michael's really leaning toward. And look at that—her blind date…
