Chapter 3
Herbert instantly understood when he heard the phrases "inner circle" and "special activities."
He wanted so badly to prove himself and get rid of the "freeloading son-in-law" label.
Thus, Herbert turned to Wanetta and persuaded her in his most gentle voice, "Honey, your father wants to introduce me to some big shots upstairs. It's important business. You're pregnant, and that place is too stressful for you.
"Why don't you go downstairs for a spa treatment and wait for me? Your father has arranged this package especially for you. Don't let his good intentions go to waste."
Wanetta disliked this sort of tedious business entertainment and client engagement all along.
Therefore, when she heard about the luxury spa treatment and the fancy detox menu, her eyes lit up.
However, she was still skeptical. "Really? You're not lying to me, are you?"
I instantly put on my most submissive, deferential look.
"Wanetta, I wouldn't dare lie to you. The VIP lounge is on the second floor, and the masseurs are already waiting. It won't be nice if you're late.
"And anyway, Herbert is meeting your father on official business. Would I lie to him about something like that?"
Wanetta tossed her hair with a snort. "Fine. I'll go enjoy myself then. Herbert, don't mess this up and make my dad look bad."
With that, she strutted off in her high heels in a haughty manner.
After watching her turn the corner, I quickly turned around and took a glass of red wine, which was a "special concoction” that I had prepared beforehand, from the tray.
It contained enough potent ingredients to ignite Herbert's "fiery passion."
"Herbert, have a drink to boost your courage before you head upstairs.
"This is a bottle of premium wine worth tens of thousands. Don't waste it," I said with feigned concern.
Herbert was completely absorbed in his dreams of instant success and didn't think twice.
He took the glass and downed it in one gulp. He even licked his lips greedily as if it wasn't enough.
"At least you're smart enough to know what's good for you," he said with a snort.
After straightening his tie, he pointed at the elevator with a flourish, "Lead the way."

On the way up, the effect of the drug kicked in inside the enclosed elevator cabin.
Herbert's face began turning red, and his breathing became heavy. He tugged at his collar subconsciously.
"Why is it so hot in here? Did the hotel's air-conditioning break down?" he grumbled.
As I stood behind him, watching his flushed face reflected in the elevator doors, I almost couldn't contain my wicked grin.
"Maybe you're just getting too hyped up, Herbert. After all, you're about to enter the VIP's inner circle," I replied vaguely.
Ding! The elevator reached the level for suite number 808.
I led Herbert, who was walking a little unsteadily, to the suite's door and swiped the keycard.
From the crack in the door, a dim, suggestive glow could be seen.
"Please go in. Mr. Zuhlsdorf has been waiting for you for a long time." With that, I opened the door and gave him a gentle push from behind.
Herbert stumbled in while mumbling vaguely, "Mr. Zuhlsdorf, I'm here…"
After making sure he was safely inside, I tactfully closed the door behind him.
However, I did not close the door tightly.
I leaned against the wall in the corridor, checked my watch, and started the countdown.
After about twenty minutes, I estimated that the drug's effects should have reached their peak.
I then called Wanetta on my phone. The phone rang for a long time before she finally answered with mild annoyance, "Why are you calling me, you bitch? I’m doing a face mask now!"
I took a deep breath and pretended to sound panicky, though I was secretly gloating.
"Wanetta, bad news! I just saw a scantily clad woman entering suite 808!
"And Herbert… he seemed to have drunk too much. That woman had to help him in.
"Maybe you should come and take a look?" I reported urgently.
There was a brief silence on the other end. Then, a piercing scream rang out.
"What? He's screwing around with other women right under my nose?
"Keep an eye on that suite! I'm coming up right now! If he escapes, I'll skin you alive!"
With that, the call was ended abruptly.
I put away my phone. Then I touched up my makeup using the gleaming elevator doors as a mirror.
When I examined the woman with the ruthless glint in the reflection, I couldn't suppress my wicked smile.
Kiefer wanted Herbert in his bed, and I had accomplished that.
But he didn't say I couldn't let a few spectators in.
Since they were putting up an act, I might as well provide them with as many spectators as possible.
Less than five minutes later, the elevator doors slid open.
Wanetta dashed out, huffing angrily. Her face was still covered with a layer of white mask residue.
Two hotel staff were frantically hurrying after her with terrified expressions.
When Wanetta saw me standing by the door, she immediately raised her hand to hit me.
"Where's that vixen? Is she still inside?" she screamed.
I evaded her hand effortlessly and pointed at the door. I pretended to look very hurt as I answered, "She's still in there. It sounds like a big ruckus is going on, so I dared not enter…"
